A quick side note before we get to the daily readings... I had a very quiet New Years Eve, but it was still fun. I want to highlight and recommend a dessert port that I think is the best dessert port I have ever had. It has some nice spice notes in it that make it wonderful for Christmas and wintery conditions. It's by Surfrider believe it or not and I get mine at the Rosenthal tasting room in Malibu.
